We have high hopes for this as we loved the dark humor of “Nip/Tuck” as well as FX’s propensity to produce unapologetic TV.

Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk Return to FX With Drama Series Pilot

“American Horror Story”

Pilot Co-Created by Murphy and Falchuk Who Will Serve as Executive Producers

Murphy to Direct Pilot; Casting Underway

Pilot Produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television

LOS ANGELES, February 17, 2011 – Former Nip/Tuck executive producers and current Glee co-creators/executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are returning to FX with a new hour-long drama series pilot, American Horror Story, announced John Landgraf, President and General Manager, FX Networks.

Landgraf said, “Ryan created Nip/Tuck for FX, a Golden Globe® and Emmy®-winning drama that was #1 among Adults 18-49 in basic cable for four years.  Then he co-created Glee for FBC, a Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning drama that is the #1 scripted hour on broadcast television among Adults 18-49.  American Horror Story is a wildly brilliant original series. Ryan and Brad Falchuk, who created it together, are evil geniuses and, in the spirit of the great Louis Armstrong, ‘Hello, Dolly, well hello, Dolly, it’s so nice to have you back where you belong…’”

The pilot for American Horror Story is co-created by Murphy and Falchuk and it will be directed by Murphy with production beginning in April.  Should FX order the pilot to series, production would begin in late spring and debut this fall.  American Horror Story is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television. In addition to Murphy and Falchuk, Dante Di Loreto will also serve as Executive Producer of American Horror Story.

American Horror Story is a project that Brad and I have been discussing for a while,” said Murphy. “John Landgraf and I have maintained a wonderful relationship since Nip/Tuck ended its run and he gave me an open invitation to develop a new show for the network.  FX is the perfect place for this series and we look forward to a great homecoming.”

Murphy added, “And as for Glee, fans can rest assured that we haven’t taken our eyes off that ball for a second. We’ve broken the stories for the season’s remaining episodes and we’ve got big things planned for our little glee club as it strives to make it past Regionals to the all-important Nationals competition in New York City.”

Brad Falchuk commented, “We knew this project was perfect for FX. That network put itself on the map for its big, bold, some might say slightly twisted shows, and the creative freedom we had on Nip/Tuck was incredibly liberating.  John immediately got what we were trying to do, which was bring the horror genre to television but with our own subversive sensibilities.  And we couldn’t be more excited to get started.”

This collaboration between Murphy and Falchuk reunites the two with FX, where they worked on the Golden Globe award-winning hit drama Nip/Tuck for seven remarkable seasons. Nip/Tuck was created, written and directed by Murphy, and also written by Falchuk who rose through the ranks to become an Executive Producer.

Murphy and Falchuk (along with Ian Brennan) are Co-Creators and Executive Producers of FOX’s hit musical comedy Glee, which has won the Golden Globe Award for Best Comedy Series for two consecutive years, and for which Murphy won the Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.Dante Di Loreto is also Executive Producer of Glee.

Oscar winner Halle Berry makes an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Monday, November 15th. She chats with Ellen about her scare involving her daughter getting lost in a department store. PLUS, she addresses the rumors that she is playing Oprah in a movie and that she enjoys being naked at home.

Halle shares a story about briefly losing her daughter in a clothing store

Ellen: I heard you had a very scary incident with her recently.

Halle: I did. Every mom can relate when you lose your kid in the department store. Talk about sweating. And you just freak out for about 30 seconds. I came undone. I think my head projected off my body.

Ellen: Was she standing or was she in the stroller or anything?

Halle: No, she’s walking now. She can walk at 3.

Ellen: She’s speaking languages at 3 to. I don’t know. I have a niece who’s just grunting. I have no idea. She’s 18 months old and goes (grunts). Yours is speaking Spanish and French.

Halle: So she was standing there and I had her hand, I swear I did, and then all of a sudden, I looked down at a price tag or something and she toddled off for what seemed like two seconds and then the next thing I know, I
looked back around and it was like whosh. Gone. And I said, “Nayla? Nayla? Nayla?” Gone. And my heart just started…And I’m like “CLOSE THE STORE! SHUT THE DOOR! MY DAUGHTER’S GONE!”

Ellen: You went from like zero to crazy.  So what happened?

Halle: She was right next to me. In a rounder of clothes where the pants were hanging. Right there. And after I became a lunatic and totally embarrassed myself, she stuck her head out and was like, “Hi.”

Ellen: Oh man. I heard about the situation and I want to make sure it doesn’t happen again so I got her something.

Ellen presents Halle with safety vest for her daughter that says on the back, “If Found Return To Oscar Winner Halle Berry”

Halle clears up some rumors

Ellen: This is what I heard. I heard that you’re going to play Oprah in a movie about her life. Did you hear that?

Halle: Yes I did. I’m not going to play Oprah. No, I was like (pretends to be on phone), “Hey, Oprah, Am I playing you? Just tell me because nobody has told me this.” I don’t know where these rumors come from.

Ellen: Is there even a movie being made?

Halle: I don’t know. Not that I wouldn’t want to play Oprah if there was a movie. I just don’t know how this stuff gets made up.

Ellen: Because I was going to play Oprah. But that’s okay.  I’m not going to do it now.  If you’d want to do it. That’s why I’m just asking.

Ellen: And the other rumor that I heard was that you very much enjoy being naked.

Halle: Laughs

Ellen: Look, you’re not disputing that. That’s taking too long to say no.

Halle: I do like being naked.

Ellen: I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.

Halle: Do you like being naked?

Ellen: It depends in what context. I’ve heard of people that actually clean their house naked. I don’t understand that. Do you clean your house naked?

Halle: No, I don’t clean my house naked.

Ellen: But have you heard about that? They clean their house naked and do things naked. I’m not naked unless there’s a necessity for it. Like I’ll
shower naked.  I’ll be naked when it’s necessary. There’s no need to just be naked for the sense of being naked.

Halle: Just walking around the house? You can’t just be…

Ellen: Do you just walk about the house naked? Like during the day? You just don’t put clothes on?

Halle: Sometimes…

KELLY OSBOURNE makes an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Friday, November 12th.  Ellen talks with Kelly about who she thinks will win this season on “DWTS.” Plus, Kelly asks if the rumors are true that Portia de Rossi will be a contestant on “DWTS.”

Ellen gets Kelly’s opinion on who she thinks will win “DWTS”

Ellen: I want to get your opinion. Do you have an idea of who is going to win “DWTS” since you were on there?

Kelly: You never know with that show.  It’s crazy you don’t always see what the people see at home and why they vote. You never really understand but I definitely think that Jennifer Grey is going to be in the finals. As for the winner, I really feel like Bristol Palin is going to give everyone a run for his or her money…I have to say this you have to separate the person from the family. She’s out there and she’s trying.

Ellen: She was just on the show. I totally agree.

Kelly: There is something quite warming about her when you met her.

Kelly asks Ellen if Portia de Rossi will be a contestant on “DWTS”

Kelly: I have a question. Is it true that Portia is going to do the show (“DWTS”)?

Ellen: I heard that Portia de Rossi might be doing “DWTS.”  She’s wants you to do it.

Kelly: You should do it like they did it in Israel with the same sex couple. I think it’s amazing. The dancing is so much better when they do the two women together. I’ve been watching it every week and it’s fabulous.

Ellen: They do it in Israel?

Kelly: Yes, there is a same sex couple and who would of thought of all places to do it there.

Ellen: I think it’s weird.  It’s not a romantic thing. It’s an art form and in dancing it doesn’t matter.  We are just so used to seeing a men and woman dancing together.  I think that’s great that they’re going to do that.  I don’t know if she is going to do it or not.  She won’t tell me. We’ll find out.

Childrens Hospital is based on the Webby Award–winning digital series that debuted on TheWB.com in 2008 and quickly became a Web hit with its twisted take on network medical dramas like Grey’s Anatomy and House. The show’s creative team is led by Corddry and fellow executive producers/writers Jonathan Stern (producer of The Ten and Scotland, PA) and David Wain (director of Role Models and Wet Hot American Summer). All new episodes continue to premiere Sunday nights at midnight (ET/PT) on Adult Swim.
In season 2, Corddry will once again be joined by an ensemble cast of comedic heavyweights, including Malin Akerman (Couples Retreat, Watchmen), Lake Bell (How to Make It in America, It’s Complicated), Erinn Hayes (Parenthood, Worst Week), Rob Huebel (I Love You Man, Human Giant), Ken Marino (Party Down, Reaper), two-time Emmy® winner Megan Mullally (Will & Grace, Party Down) and Henry Winkler (Arrested Development, Happy Days).
Childrens Hospital explores the emotional struggles and sexual politics of a group of doctors charged with healthy libidos. Their dedication to their personal lives is relentless, interrupted only by the occasional need to treat sick children. Along with the all-star cast, guest stars have included Ed Begley Jr. (St. Elsewhere, Arrested Development), Lizzy Caplan (Party Down, True Blood), John Cho (Star Trek, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle), Rachael Harris (The Hangover, Reno 911!), Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters, Oz), Kerri Kenney-Silver (Reno 911!, The State), Nick Kroll (The League, Worst Week), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Marion Ross (Happy Days), Will Sasso (MADtv, Less Than Perfect), Paul Scheer (The League, Human Giant), Kurtwood Smith (That ’70s Show, Worst Week), Abigail Spencer (Mad Men, Angela’s Eyes), David Wain (Wainy Days, The State) and Matt Walsh (Reno 911!, Upright Citizens Brigade).
Childrens Hospital is produced by Abominable Pictures and distributed by Warner Bros. Television.
