We talked to Comedy Central’s “Queen of Mean,” Lisa Lampanelli, who turned out to be very nice. Among other things, we learned that Lampanelli has a Broadway show in the works. Tom also talks about a bunch of French stuff including the Tour de France and how NBC Sports is already screwing it up; the new Woody Allen movie “Midnight in Paris”; and his most recent trip to France.

TNT’s “Men of a Certain Age” is one of our favorite shows, hands down, so it was with pleasure that we spoke with showrunner Mike Royce about what’s going with the show this season. We’ve been following each other on Twitter for almost 2 years and finally met in person at the Peabody Awards in May. Mike is a patient and funny guy who I forced to sit through one of my bits about opossums. If you haven’t seen “Men of a Certain Age” I highly recommend it. Yes, it’s about 3 guys who have reached middle age but you don’t have to be a middle-aged guy to appreciate the great writing and acting the show has to offer. There is also some perfect “real world” humor in the show – the kind you would have between friends, not the sitcom style, set-up/punchline type jokes.

Host Thomas Attila Lewis rehashes some recent interviews/developments: seeing Bill Burr in NYC and working on a video with him; doing stand up in Northampton, MA and Albany, NY; and upcoming interviews. The gem in this podcast is the 5 minute clip of Louis C.K. on location in New York City shooting scenes for FX’s “Louie”. It’s about 19 minutes into the podcast if you get sick of the lame banter.
